Collection: Turmeric

Turmeric is a spice widely used in Asia and is the main ingredient in curries.
Due to its yellow color, it is sometimes also called Indian saffron. Moreover, its widespread use in traditional medicine has sparked significant interest in its health benefits.

Since curcumin is considered the most active component of turmeric, researchers have begun to isolate it and examine whether it may have beneficial effects on certain conditions on its own.
It has been shown to have strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, and may even support wound healing through its antibacterial properties.

Furthermore, both turmeric and curcumin have been found to lower blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes. However, an animal study found that curcumin minimized diabetes markers more effectively than turmeric. Curcumin is specifically capable of reducing inflammatory markers such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin 6 (IL-6), which play a key role in the development of type 2 diabetes.
